The Municipal Flag of Ameristralia was first designed on 13 August 2021 by David Brooke. The current design also created by Brooke, came into effect on 30 January 2022 after a referendum by the citizenry selected it over eight other designs.

The flag is a visual representation of the municipality's core values of "Equality, Liberty and Unity." It symbolises the joining of American and Australian cultures, signified by Brooke's dual citizenship of the nations. The American red on the top of the field depicts municipal unity. The Australian blue on the bottom of the field characterises liberty and freedom to choose while the white band sitting horizontally across the centre of the field represents the equality of humankind.
