The Town of Morrison, also known as simply Morrison is a self-proclaimed sovereign state that is not recognized by the wider international community as such that was proclaimed to be independent on December 25, 2013. Its history can be traced back to December 25, 2013, when Isaiah Deegan, a citizen of the United States and resident of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, a U.S. state, decided one day to create his own city called the Town of City Bee. This city was not recognized as a city by the U.S. government, but it existed nonetheless. In the beginning, his cat Kira was made the Mayor of City Bee, though she had no actual authority, and the position was symbolic. The town was renamed Morrison on March 29, 2019, and Isaiah removed Kira from her position as Mayor and then became Mayor himself, and then immediately set up an actual solid government through adopting a constitution on March 30, 2019.

History

Pre-History

From March 4, 1681, to September 3, 1783, the land that now makes up the Town of Morrison was under British colonial rule. The land was first a part of the Province of Pennsylvania from 1681 to July 4, 1776, when the Province of Pennsylvania seceded from the British Empire and joined the Thirteen Colonies to form the United States. After July 4, 1776, the lands were still a part of British America, which would remain in existence until the Treaty of Paris was signed on September 3, 1783, which would see the British giving to the United States all the lands east of the Mississippi River. This would end the Colonial Period of Morrisonian history. The lands of Morrison would remain uninhabited, barring an Indian settlement called Cussawago that was founded by Chief Custaloga, who was the chief of the Eriechronon people. However, this settlement was eventually abandoned and a group of Americans led by David Mead would found Meadville, Pennsylvania, on May 12, 1788. Around 1901 or 1925 a house would be built on the lands of Morrison, and this house would eventually be occupied by Isaiah Deegan's family on July 30, 2009. Isaiah would be born on April 5, 2006, alongside his sister, who was born on the same day. They were born in Charleston, South Carolina, before moving to Meadville, Pennsylvania, on July 30, 2009. Isaiah would eventually get a copy of Animal Crossing: New Leaf for his Nintendo 3DS on Christmas Day in December 2013. He would then create his own town and country that same day.

City Bee and Morrison

The Town of City Bee was established on December 25, 2013, when Isaiah Deegan decided to secede from the City of Meadville, which his family had lived in since July 30, 2009. He made his cat Kira Mayor of the Town. The nation had two songs, a flag, a church called the Temple of Yesu, which was a Christian sect that focused solely on the Jesus and the New Testament, and believe that Jesus and God are one individual, and that Jesus was God's human form. The church also rejects the Old Testament entirely and regards the God in the Old Testament as separate and inferior to the God in the New Testament, and that the God in the New Testament was the real God, as he had come to the humans in the flesh as Jesus, and showed his powers, thus overthrowing the old God and bringing the world to a new era. Jesus's crucifixion was seen as the old God attempting to overpower the new God and reassert his authority. Jesus's resurrection was seen as the final defeat of the old God. Therefore, the Old Testament has been entirely rejected by the church in order to reject erase the old God. They refer to Jesus as "Yesu". City Bee established a one-party state under a party called the Republican-Democrat Party. The country was to be governed by the commands of Jesus Christ, and the society was based on peace and extreme individualism, as well as decentralization. The Mayor became basically a person who managed everything, and every decision had to be brought to a vote from the people, who were all members of the Republican-Democrat Party. However, all of this was informal and not solidified by a particular document until the National Revitalization Movement came around on March 29, 2019.

National Revitalization Movement

On March 29, 2019, Isaiah Deegan decided to quietly remove his cat Kira from her largely ceremonial position as Mayor. She had ruled the nation for nearly 5 and a half years. He started a "National Revitalization Movement" and removed her from her position and then created a constitution that would solidify a system of governance for the country. The Town of City Bee was renamed to the Town of Morrison. The constitution, called the Town Charter, solidified the dominance of the church, formalized the one-party state, and formalized the splitting of power between the Mayor and the ruling party, as well as formalizing the Christian beliefs and laws of the nation. After Kira was removed from power, she became effectively a national symbol and a symbol of the cause of the nation. She is still seen as a national hero to this day. The National Revitalization Movement was completed on March 30, 2019, and the Town Charter was adopted on that same day.

Present Day

On November 24, 2019, the Floating Island Project, a plan to build a floating island that would be anchored 12 nautical miles off the coast of the United States, was begun. This project was seen as a way for the nation to justify its claim to sovereignty, as then it would have land that was not claimed by anyone, and then no one could question its existence as a sovereign state. The project was designed to be in phases. Phase 1 was to be simply a planning phase. Phase 2 was meant to be the process of gaining funds and constructing the island, as well as gaining physical individuals who would serve as the nation's populace. Phase 2 was begun on April 28, 2024, and Phase 3 will be the final phase, which is to launch and anchor the island. The Town of Morrison also gained its first example of foreign relations on September 3, 2022, which saw Isaiah Deegan, acting as Mayor of Morrison, help an Ambazonian-Cameroonian man form his own political party so he could run for President of the Federal Republic of Ambazonia. The party was to be called the Free Liberal Party of Ambazonia, and the man's name was Melvian Che. He ran an organization that helped Ambazonian and Cameroonian children receive an education. This interaction was seen as an important milestone in Morrisonian history. There are plans to contact Melvian Che again in the future to formalize relations with him. Kira, the former Mayor of City Bee, died from Feline Leukemia on October 28, 2022, while surrounded by her friends and family. Her death would lead to a week of national mourning being observed. She was buried just outside the borders of Morrison. Her death has now been made a national holiday in order to honor her life and legacy.

Constitution

The Town Charter of the Town of Morrison was adopted on March 30, 2019.

Area and Geography

The Town of Morrison is approximately 4,000 square feet, or 370.6 square meters. This makes it one of the smallest countries in the world. It is 86 feet long and 50 feet wide, and its small size has made it have to find ways to defend itself, so a policy known as the "Island Fort" policy has made the government focus on turning the nation into a fortified island that would be able to defend itself no matter the situation.

Economy

The Town of Morrison has a very small economy that was for much of the nation's history virtually non-existent, as the nation produced nothing and relied solely on foreign aid from the United States. This period between 2013 and 2024 has been called the "Chronic Economic Decline Period". It is currently funded by having its citizens work in the United States, which has been being done since mid-April 2024. This has since been labeled the "Miracle In Morrison". The nation now has a GDP of around US$500. This is the highest Gross Domestic Product the nation has had since July 2022, when the nation had around US$370 in GDP, which was also funded through having the nation's citizens work in the United States, which was done from May 2022 to October 2022. This was labeled the "Little Miracle In Morrison".
