The Prime Minister of Pontunia, formerly Chancellor of Pontunia and Chief Minister of Pontunia, is the head of government of Kingdom of Ponchartrain-Maurepas. They are elected by Parliament following the general election. This is commonly done through a motion submitted by the Speaker. The responsibilities of the Prime Minister include the staffing of Cabinet, advising the Monarch, and assuring the government's duties are being carried out.

History

The Prime Minister has been in a tenuous position historically, and had little power.
